Latest on Manchester United target : Roberto Firmino

Recently Sky Sports Germany tweeted about a certain Brazilian from Hoffenheim is on his way to Manchester United for a modest fee of €30million. This has got Manchester United fans buzzing on social media. The tricky forward who can play in several position, is just the kind of player Louis Van Gaal prefers.

Firmino is a ambidextrous player which has helped him play in several role. He was called up for NT squad, and has been played as a False 9 by coach Carlos Dunga. He has shone in that position for his nation in that role - scoring three goals and getting one assist in two starts and four substitute appearance.

Pace, tenacity, dribbling skills, he seems to have a lot going for him. But it's not just this, the 23 year old is also a very hard worker, and tracks back a lot too. He can bring a lot of pace, and skill to Manchester United. But is he what Manchester United are looking for?

Before getting too excited, we need to remind you this is the same Sky Sports Germany, who claimed in April that an announcement would be made on an imminent transfer of Borussia Dortmund's Iker Gundogan to Manchester United.

James Cooper for SSN England said "They are stuffed full of attacking midfielders. They have got the likes of Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj and Juan Mata in that role and I think their priorities do lie elsewhere" on reports about Firmino.

United also bought Memphis Depay for an undisclosed fee from PSV this summer. He is another forward in that long list, which makes it far-fetched that United will go for Firmino this season. However, we have seen stranger things happen, and with Ed Woodward at helm, they might just do the unthinkable. And for a player of Firmino's quality, €30m really looks like a bargain.
