Robin Van Persie agrees terms with Turkish side Fenerbahce

Robin Van Persie’s day as a Manchester United star is coming to an end. The high flying Dutchman is set to move to Turkish giant Fenerbahce after a source close to the Turkish side claimed they were on the brink of signing him.

Van Persie previously stated that he will not move this summer, he will instead fight for his place at Manchester United. This stance seems to have changed in past few days.

Van Persie’s agent Kes Vos is rumored to be in Istanbul for past two days negotiating terms with Fenerbache for the possible move. A fee for the striker is yet to be agreed between Fenerbache and Manchester United.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has apparently told Van Persie that he will not be a regular in first team next season. Manchester United are planning to add more fire power up front before the Transfer Window closes. This has left Van Persie concerned about his future at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman was influential in getting Manchester United their 20th League Title. Sir Alex bought him from arch rivals Arsenal for £24m in a controversial move. He was an instant success at Manchester United and in his first season he won the golden boot with 26 goals. He was unable to have the same impact next season under Moyes. Many believed he will regain his top form when Manchester United announced the Dutch Coach Louis Van Gaal as the new manager, It wasn’t to be, he was mostly injured and the times when he was playing, he looked like a shadow of a player he once was.

Another big reason why Manchester United are willing to part ways with Robin Van Persie is because of his high wages. The striker currently earns £250K a week, selling him would ease the wage bill and they can lure more high profile players.
