Rafa Benitez's plans for Real Madrid

Rafa Banitez was unveiled as Real Madrid's new manager on 3rd of June after sacking La Decima winning coach Carlo Ancelotti. Fans and players were not much happy with the decision of sacking Ancelotti as they had earlier expressed their desire to work with him next season too. It was an emotional return for him since he's been Real Madrid's youth player and had to quit football due to health issues. He also has been the coach of Real Madrid U-19

As soon as he was appointed, he wasted no time on working on the next season. He contacted the players and this is what he said in his interview with Real Madrid, " I've been following the players and have been in contact with them from the first moment, so, firstly I have to the attitude they have shown me is excellent. The first thing I've done is listen, find out what went well and not so well last season, their impressions, what in their opinion could be improved and what they like to be done ".

He went onto say how he has dealt at his previous clubs and added about the attitude of players, "I've done the same with all the technical staff  and professionals at the club and, with all the info, once all together we'll decide what's best for the team and for everyone of them. They've shown good attitude to their work and I've conveyed to them that the technical staff will be there for them for anything they need. In fact we've been in contact with the injured players to gain all the time we can before training starts. In terms of who'll play and where, as  said, we have to get together, train together, and then we'll decide ".

He also talked about player's demands, "Contrary to what is being said, Iker, Sergio, Cristiano, Isco, Bale, none of them are "demanding" to play here or there, among other reasons because we haven't yet decided the most appropriate system with which to try to get the most out of each player. They have to feel at ease on the pitch to give us the best they can ".

Looking at Rafa's plans, he doesn't want to leave any stone unturned in order to make his tenure at the Bernabeu successful.
