Chelsea Forward Diego Costa has encouraged his Manager Jose Mourinho to go ahead and sign his old compatriot Arda Turan. In a recent interview Diego Costa quoted “It would be a fantastic” to reunite with his former team at Stamford Bridge again.
The 28 year old wing-forward has
been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester
United in recent days after his agent confirmed the Turkish International wants
to leave Atletico Madrid, and prefers a move to England.
“He is planning on leaving Spain
this summer. He would like to play in the Premier League. This is the path he
would like his career to take. His departure from Atletico would not be easy
because of his €41 Million buy-out clause. We are in discussion
with three clubs, but I cannot reveal names. They are the three best club in
England, and indeed Europe,” Turan’s agent said in an exclusive interview to
AS.
And although Catalan newspaper
Sport and Mundo Deprotivo have claimed Arda is on the verge to sign for Catalan
giants Barcelona – With a contract agreed between the Player and the Club, Arda
Turan immediately denied those rumors on his Twitter Handle.
“Some Reports of my Transfer are
not correct. I am on holiday and resting,” he announced on social media.
Having broken the news of Arda
wanting to leave Atletico Madrid, AS has also claimed that Turan has “lucrative
agreement with Manchester United”, but Chelsea remains his first choice.
AS also claims that Arda Turan
prefers a move to Chelsea because he can reunite with his former Atletico
Madrid teammates Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea are willing to offer
Filipe Luis to ease the negotiation and reduce his buy-out clause of €41m (£29m).
And Costa has
hailed a potential move of Arda Turan from Vincente Caledron to Stamford Bridge
after he made the same switch a year ago.
“It would be
fantastic. Arda makes everything so much easier on the pitch. Arda, Felipe and
I function perfectly. And Arda is such a great person. He invited us to eat at
his house many times; I really liked his kebab. The whole team would go round
to his for dinner,” the Spain international said to Turkish newspaper Bugun.
