In my Previous Article I've discussed about the youngsters and the Goalkeepers will be used by Rafa. So, moving on to the next segment.

He will be one of the best Centerback of this generation if he continues to play without getting injured. Carlo Ancelotti preferred Pepe over him to pair up with Sergio Ramos for Centerback partnership. Varane also had injury problems, which is perhaps the reason Pepe was preferred over him by Ancelotti. In Jose Mourinho's last season, Varane proved his worth, when he started in all the big games and Real Madrid hardly conceded goals. He contained all the big players he played against and made name for himself. Now, Rafa has assured him that he will be a starter this season.
Sergio Ramos is the biggest name in the Madrid defense, Reportedly Sergio Ramos has agreed to renew his contract, which is a big boost for Real Madrid and Rafa of coarse. However it is a huge blow to Manchester united as they don't have a Worldclass Centerback. Sergio Ramos is the Captain and leader for Real Madrid on the pitch and dressing room, and he is a Fan Favorite at Real Madrid. Pepe has also agreed to extend his contract for one year, he will be the first substitute to either of the Centerbacks. Nacho Fernandez, another good utility player. He can play anywhere in the defense. Although he prefers to play at Centerback postion.
Coming to the Fullback positions, Real Madrid have signed Porto Fullback Danilo. He is very solid defensively and will give tough competition for Dani Carvajal. Although Carvajal was not very good last season. If he wants to be starter, he needs to raise his game. Real Madrid also have a veteran Alvaro Arbeloa, who is well past his prime but still can used as a substitute. He can play on both the Fullback positions, still he is very good defensively, he can be very good utility player.
However about the Leftback position, Marcelo is starter, his attacking abilities are very good. His linkup with Cristiano Ronaldo is just too good, he is a bit weak defensively. Whereas Fabio Coentrao, who's very good defensively is Marcelo's deputy. Although he starts in all the big matches and Finals, Coentrao's major concern is injuries. He gets injured too often, he has just featured in 38% of Real Madrid games since he joined.
So, Rafa's First choice starters in the defense will be Marcelo at Leftback, Varane and Ramos as Centerbacks and Danilo at Rightback.
