Van Gaal confirms Giggs will be successor of the club when he leaves.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal made it clear that the signing of Anthony Martial was not a panic buy, nor does he feel The French Wonder Kid would improve his squad drastically.

In an arranged evening by Manchester United’s executive club members, The Dutchman and his No.2 Ryan Giggs took to the stage to answer few questions about transfer, formation and future of the club.

He was asked about Anthony Martial who has raised eyebrows of many, after becoming the most expensive teenager in the history of the game. People wanted to know more about him and why exactly did the Dutchman spend so much on player who just made his senior debut earlier this year.

Dutchman revealed this buy was not for his squad, but instead it was for Van Gaal’s successor at the club Ryan Giggs.

"Yes I spend a lot of money on Martial, but I buy him for my successor .... Ryan Giggs"
