Video: Louis Van Gaal says Manchester United can win Premier League

The victory against Saints lifted Manchester United to 2^nd spot in League Table behind Manchester City who are just two points above them after a shocking defeat at Etihad against West Ham United.

After a well earned victory at St. Mary’s Stadium with a scoreline of 2-3, Van Gaal was full of praise and admitted Manchester United can go and win the League.

“We have made a statement that we shall compete for the title.” Van Gaal said in the post match interview. 

“You cannot expect a title from a team in transition. But when we are close, we shall grab it.” 

 

 

Van Gaal also praised the teenage sensation Anthony Martial who has scored 3 goals in just 2 games in the Premier League.

 “He is doing great – three matches in a row and three goals,”

But the Dutchman also warned United fans to not expect the Frenchman to continue in same vein as he is just 19.

“When you are 19, you cannot expect consistency. Emotionally they shall have a lots of dips so that I expect also from him but that is not a big problem for me.”
