Manchester City closing in on Kevin de Bruyne

Manchester City are now aggressively chasing Belgian ace Kevin De Bruyne. The Qatari owned club has upped their pace after recent report emerged that Paris-Saint Germaine have also joined the list for De Bruyne.

Cash rich City and PSG are both prepared to spend heavily, from fee to wages of the player, for the 24 year old attacker. PSG and City confirmed last week that they are no longer subjected to FFP restriction, and are ready to sign big name players this summer.

But the ambitious Wolfsburg are keen to hang on their star player, who was Top of Assist charts in Bundesliga with 20 Assists last season. He had the highest number of assist by any player around Europe in Top 5 League.

Wolfsburg wants to close the gap between them and Munich, and are gearing up for new contract talk with Kevin De Bruyne, reports suggest they will offer him a two year extension and a significant rise of £40,000 wages in his current contract.

Wolfsburg manager Klaus Allofs last week told the media that Wolfsburg had no intention of selling the player, he has a contract with the club.  He said: “Kevin has a contract until 2019, so the signal has already been sent out. He will stay with us.”

However, City believe they can change the stance of the German club by giving a scrumptious fee for the player. They believe £50m would be enough to get their main target.

De Bruyne has stated in the past that he will not be making any decision on holidays; he is not due in training until next week.

City are building for the future and they have already set sights on Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling. They do not want to waste more time on getting their targets and reports from England have suggested that City are preparing for a Third and final bid for Sterling, which they believe will be accepted.
